In the heart of Madeira, against the raw, thundering backdrop of a hidden waterfall, we witnessed the overwhelming power of connection. This is the story of how two people from the Baltics found their paradise, and how their children became brothers.

Traveling from Latvia to Madeira is a journey from the soft, flat landscapes of Northern Europe to the dramatic, vertical volcanic peaks of the Atlantic. Our couple wanted something that felt “elemental”—a place where the earth, water, and air felt alive.
We chose one of Madeira’s most iconic waterfall locations. The sheer scale of the rock face and the constant, rhythmic fall of the water provided a natural cathedral for the day
A Ceremony of Strings and Tears
As the family arrived at the base of the falls, the air was already thick with mist and anticipation. To elevate the atmosphere, we brought in the incredible Olga Aya.
There is something hauntingly beautiful about hearing a classical violin melody competing with the roar of a waterfall. As Olga’s bow touched the strings, the “wedding jitters” evaporated, replaced by pure, raw emotion. Tears flowed freely—not just from the couple, but from everyone present. It was a sensory experience: the cold mist on the skin, the smell of wet moss, and the soaring sound of the violin.

The Memory: Carlos Silva and the Adreamstory team were in their element. Photographing at a waterfall is technically difficult due to the light and spray, but they captured the “expanded family” with a cinematic quality that looks like a movie still.
The Celebration: After the ceremony, the family celebrated with a custom creation from Slice Bakery. Even in the middle of nature, you can still have a world-class cake.

Music is Essential: In loud natural environments like waterfalls or windy cliffs, live music (like a violinist) helps “anchor” the ceremony so you don’t feel lost in the scale of nature.
